Here is an example of the homework you will receive before the lesson:

Step 1

Homework before the lesson starts

Your teacher will email you homework for the first lesson which will have exercises for a specific writing topic. The exercises are designed for students needing band 7+.

Here is an example of the homework you will receive before the lesson:

Step 2

Complete the exercises

Before the lesson, practice the exercises and become familiar with the topic ideas, suitable vocabulary and grammatical structures.  Your teacher will usually will give you 2 topics to study before the lesson.

Step 3

Book the 1 hour online lesson

You can email the teacher to confirm your time and then meet them on Microsoft Teams, Whatsapp, Google Meet, or traditional telephone lessons (The teacher will call your phone).

Step 4

During the lesson

In the online lesson the teacher will give you a link to Google docs and will show you an IELTS writing task 2 question that is related to the homework you have studied.

You will practice essay planning, idea development, and learn higher level grammatical structures.

Step 5

Practice Speaking

During the last 15 minutes of the lesson, the teacher usually will get you to practice part 2/3 IELTS speaking questions that are related to the topic you are working on.

For example, if you are working on 'the advantages and disadvantages of living in urban areas' then the teacher might ask you:

"In your experience, what are some of the drawbacks of living in a big city?"

"Tell me about a time when you were stuck in heavy congestion?"

"Why do some people think it's advantageous to buy a yearly rail or bus ticket?"

Our method is to get you to broaden your learning so that you do not learn things in isolation. You will feel confident to naturally apply the things you learn in all parts of the IELTS test and your daily life.
